This article covers managed communal corridors, stairs, lobbies and shared areas. It does not offer carpet cleaning inside private apartments. A luxury specification also does not establish which cleaning method is suitable: the carpet fibre and construction still need to be checked.
Give the surveyor the building’s real constraints
Identify entrances, corridors and other routes that must remain available, together with any local restrictions on equipment, lift use, noise or working windows. Tell the contractor about expected deliveries, booked moves and areas with particular access requirements. Some routes cannot simply be taken out of service because an alternative appears on a plan.
The responsible building team and contractor should agree any necessary controls for the actual site. A general cleaning article cannot approve an emergency route change or replace the building’s safety arrangements. If the planned sequence conflicts with them, resolve the conflict before starting work.
Make concierge coordination explicit
Agree the arrival contact, unloading arrangements, equipment route and permissions for water or power use. Give the concierge team the confirmed working window and a clear contact for changes. Where the building requires contractor documents or named attendees in advance, record the deadline and who will supply them.
Do not ask a concierge to improvise the scope at arrival. The approved areas, constraints and escalation contact should already be recorded. Pristine’s managed-building service provides a survey route for agreeing this scope.
Send a useful resident notice
A useful notice says which areas are affected, the agreed working window, what residents need to do and whom to contact. Explain any agreed temporary arrangements without promising an exact drying time that has not been confirmed for that method and building.
Coordinate notices with the building’s usual communication process. Avoid naming residents or sharing their personal circumstances in contractor paperwork. Where additional assistance is needed, the authorised building team can coordinate the practical requirement without disclosing unnecessary private information.
Inspect the carpet before choosing the method
High-specification carpet may need particular care, and appearance alone cannot confirm fibre content or wet-cleaning suitability. Bring manufacturer information or maintenance instructions to the survey where available. Ask how uncertainty will be resolved before approving the work.
Pristine does not hot-water-extract viscose, rayon or art silk. A survey is needed to confirm accepted scope and method. The method comparison guide explains useful questions to discuss; it is not approval to use a method on an unidentified carpet.
Close the visit with a clear handover
Record the completed areas, exclusions and any outstanding actions. Agree who receives method-specific reopening advice and who communicates it to the building team. Keep a record of observed condition and unresolved concerns without claiming every mark can be removed or that cleaning reverses wear.
For communal carpet work, start with Pristine’s communal service and request a survey. You can message WhatsApp 07488 325796 or email info@london-carpet-cleaner.co.uk. Response hours are 09:00-16:00 Monday-Friday, Europe/London; booked cleaning windows are agreed separately.
