| Document | Check before attendance |
|---|---|
| Public liability certificate | Named insured business, expiry date, indemnity limit and relevant activities or exclusions. |
| Risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) | The actual building, equipment, work sequence, access and controls. |
| COSHH information | Products used, safety data sheets and the assessment of their use in the task. |
| Attendance and site onboarding | Who is attending and which site-specific checks are required. |
A safety data sheet describes a chemical; it is not itself a COSHH risk assessment. HSE explains that its information helps assess the task and exposure.
Make the request specific to your building
Ask for documents early enough for your team to review them. Include the access window, occupied areas, loading arrangement and any security or induction requirements. A generic folder of certificates cannot explain how a particular occupied corridor will be managed.
Pristine’s position
- £10 million public liability cover; certificate supplied for the work.
- Site-specific RAMS and relevant COSHH documentation before attendance.
- Owner DBS checked; DBS checked operatives arranged on request where required.
- Attendance and access requirements agreed before the visit.
If your procurement process needs employers’ liability information, accreditation or another specific requirement, request it directly so we can confirm the applicable position. We do not treat a training course or a data sheet as an accreditation.
A checklist to send with the survey brief
Please provide the current insurance certificate for the business carrying out the work, site-specific RAMS, relevant COSHH assessments and product safety data sheets. Confirm attending personnel and our site onboarding requirements before the visit. Identify any requirement that cannot be met before we confirm the booking.
Keep the record with the scope
Store the approved scope, quotation, documents and completion record against the same building and work date. If the method, products or access plan changes, make sure the relevant documents are reviewed as well.
