Scope the carpet, rather than the number of desks

Send the Old Street site address and postcode so coverage and survey availability can be confirmed. Tell us whether you occupy a private office, manage a shared workspace or appoint work across several floors. Those arrangements can affect who approves each carpeted area.

Desk counts and membership numbers can explain how a floor is used, but they do not measure the carpet available for cleaning. A survey establishes the actual areas, the furniture that remains and the work window. Keep specialist carpet care separate from the routine office-cleaning specification.

Build a measured workspace brief

Use room and zone references from your own plan. The same floor can contain private offices, operator-managed areas and spaces booked by different teams.

Separate the initial visit from an ongoing programme

A floor that has fallen behind may need a one-off restorative clean before a maintenance programme is useful. Later visits can focus on specific traffic lanes, entrances or meeting rooms. The first clean and recurring visits should each state their areas and purpose.

For each proposed visit, ask which zones are included, what preparation is required and whether the same access is available every time. A recurring instruction need not cover the entire floor, and an annual budget should not assume every visit has the same scope.

Make the access arrangement match actual occupation

  • Release: name the person who confirms each zone is empty and ready. Include early meetings, late-working teams and booked rooms.
  • Preparation: agree who clears bags, stored items and loose furniture. Identify fixed desks and floor boxes before the visit.
  • Building entry: provide current unloading, security, lift, water and power arrangements through the responsible building contact.
  • Return to use: agree inspection, drying and safe-route checks for each zone. A membership access policy does not establish that carpet can be cleaned safely while occupied.

Evening or weekend attendance can be discussed subject to availability and suitable access and drying arrangements. If the available area or working window changes, review the instruction and any price variation before extending the job.

Assess the carpet and keep a usable visit record

Share specifications, previous spot treatments and recurring marks where known. We check fibre, backing, installation and condition before choosing extraction or suitable low-moisture maintenance. Pristine does not hot-water-extract viscose, rayon or art silk. Cleaning cannot repair wear, damaged backing or permanent colour loss.

Record completed areas and exceptions against the same zone names used in the quote. This gives the operator or office contact a basis for the next maintenance review, without treating inaccessible carpet or an unresolved mark as completed work.

A measured survey and a fixed written quote

Published carpet rates range from £2.00 to £2.80/m², with a £250 minimum per visit and no VAT added. The free survey confirms the actual area, condition, method and access. The written quote records included zones, exclusions, furniture responsibilities and the work window before booking. Separate buildings and stair areas need their own confirmed scope; upholstery is assessed separately.

Questions before the survey

Do you cover offices around Old Street?

We consider commercial office carpet-cleaning enquiries around Old Street. Send the full site address and postcode so coverage, access and survey availability can be confirmed.

Can a shared-workspace operator arrange carpet cleaning?

Yes, for areas the operator is authorised to appoint and where suitable access can be agreed. Identify private offices and separately managed areas so their instructions and approving contacts remain clear.

Can you price carpet cleaning from our desk count?

A desk count helps explain use, but the survey confirms the actual carpeted area, condition and access. The fixed written quote is for the agreed carpet scope, not a headcount.

Does recurring maintenance mean the whole floor is cleaned each time?

No. Each visit should define its zones and purpose. Frequency and coverage follow condition, use and access; an initial restorative clean can be scoped separately.
